Hi, we're Sonya and Colin — parents of three boys, run ragged and running HipBaby.ie from our home in the Midlands of Ireland.

We took over HipBaby back in 2019 from a dear friend and fellow parent — it was our favourite place to shop for our kids, and when she was ready to pass it on, we took a deep breath and said, “Let’s give it a shot.” No business background, just a shared love for bright, long-lasting, ethical kids’ clothing — and a determination to make it work.

At HipBaby, we only stock ethically made organic cotton clothing from brands we trust and adore — like Frugi, Maxomorra, and Kite. These aren’t fast fashion pieces — they’re colourful, joyful, built to last kinds of clothes. We’ve had some of our own go through three boys, two friends’ boys, and back again for one last hurrah. (And yes, we’re still not ready to part with those red Frugi dungarees from the Earth Baby Fair in 2015. They started it all.)

We believe that what our children wear matters — for their skin, for their comfort, and for the planet they’ll grow up in. Organic cotton is better for little ones, better for farmers, and better for the Earth. And it lasts. We know it’s an investment — so we offer interest-free payment plans to make it more manageable for families.

And HipBaby isn’t just about clothes. Sonya’s been a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor for over a decade, and we also supply carefully chosen breastfeeding accessories and essentials — including those urgent “I need a pump part on Christmas Eve” kinds of moments. (Yes, really. From Cork. We were honoured to help.) Building on our own passions for supporting breastfeeding families we expand the range HipBaby carried to introduce breastfeeding based accessories, and a few other bits and pieces along the way that felt right.

We’ve been proudly nominated three years in a row as Ireland’s Best Breastfeeding-Friendly Business — and whether you’re here for organic cotton magic or feeding support, we want you to feel welcomed and understood.

There’s no showroom here — just us, a few overstuffed storage shelves, and a deep passion for what we do. We’re a business by parents, for parents, and we’re here to help you dress your kids in clothes that are good for them, kind to the planet, and frankly — a little easier to spot at the playground.
