The Lactation Hub microwave steriliser bags provide a quick and convenient way to steam-sterilise baby feeding and expressing equipment at home, at work or while travelling.
Simply wash the items thoroughly, place them in the bag with the required amount of water and heat them in the microwave according to the instructions provided. The resulting steam sterilises the contents in just a few minutes, without the need for a bulky electric steriliser or chemical sterilising solution.
Each box contains 10 microwave steriliser bags. Every bag can be reused up to 20 times and includes a printed tracking chart to help you record each use. This provides up to 200 sterilising cycles per box when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

How to use microwave steriliser bags
Always follow the instructions printed on the bag, including the required quantity of water and heating time for your microwave’s wattage.
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
- Take apart and wash all items in warm, soapy water, removing any traces of milk.
- Rinse the items thoroughly.
- Check that every item is suitable for microwave steam sterilisation.
- Place the items in the bag without overfilling it.
- Add the specified amount of water and seal the bag as directed.
- Place the bag upright in the microwave and heat it for the stated time.
- Allow the bag to cool before carefully removing it from the microwave.
- Drain any remaining hot water as instructed before opening the bag.
- Mark the completed cycle on the bag’s use-tracking chart.
Important safety information
The bag, water and contents will be extremely hot after sterilisation. Hot steam can cause burns. Allow the bag to cool and always open it facing away from your face and body.
Only place microwave-safe items in the bag. Never include metal parts, electrical breast pump components or anything its manufacturer states should not be steam-sterilised. Do not use the bag in a conventional oven or with the grill function of a combination microwave.
Cleaning and sterilising are separate steps. All equipment must be thoroughly washed before being placed in a microwave steriliser bag. Always follow the instructions supplied with the bags and the cleaning guidance provided by the equipment manufacturer.
